May 05 – The Name that Gives Victory!
“I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” (1 Samuel 17:45)
The Name of the Lord has been given to you so that you may live in victory. That is why you bear the name Christian—a name of triumph.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, there is no defeat for you. Even if the beginning looks like failure, the end will surely be complete victory. That is why the apostle Paul declared: “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)
There is no other name that gives victory like the name of Jesus. No one can compare with Him in triumph. The Bible says: “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” (Philippians 2:10–11)
His name is greater than any commander, any ruler, any authority in this world. His name is Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6), the Almighty (Genesis 17:1).
And He has promised: “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:14). So ask the Lord for victory—victory upon victory.
Jesus said: “Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:24)
A person’s name carries his identity. When we speak the name of Jesus, we remember who He is: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
This victorious name has been placed upon you. The name Jesus means Saviour. Because He has conquered Satan, He delivers you from his power.
Take up this powerful weapon—the name of the Lord. He has promised: “In My name they will cast out demons.” (Mark 16:17)
Dear children of God, Since you bear the name of Christ, no enemy can ultimately stand against you, as long as you live.
Verse for further meditation: “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17)
