April 08 – A LADDER WHICH BECAME A CROSS!

“….hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man” (John 1:51).

Jacob saw a ladder in his dream, and in that leader, angels alone kept ascending and descending. Except for the angels, no man climbed the ladder. Sin brought in a significant separation between the man and God.

Man was unable to go to God, move with Him and rejoice. The Scripture says, “No one has ascended to heaven” (John 3:13). Jesus Christ Himself turned into a ladder in order to create a link between heaven and the earth. The Cross of Calvary is that ladder. Yes. He is the one to make the people of the world shine like the stars of the sky.

Dear children of God, look up to the cross, which is the ladder standing high in your life. The wounds which Jesus Christ suffered on the cross, remain as steps to heaven for you. There is no way other than the path of cross for you to go to heaven. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

A multitude of people ascended to heaven after Jesus had experienced the sufferings on the cross. John, the apostle, writes, “After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven” (Revelation 19:1). Yes. Only when Jesus Christ gave His life on the cross, people were able to enter into heaven by receiving the forgiveness of sins and Salvation, making use of the Calvary sacrifice and the bloodshed by Jesus Christ,

Even today, God is standing like a ladder combining heaven and earth. “Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord, “And not a God afar off” (Jeremiah 23:23). Yes. Heaven is His throne, and earth is His footstool (Isaiah 66:1). Think over the love He has placed on you, which is so great. How great His compassion is!

Look at that ladder once more. It has two ends. The end which rests on the earth signifies that He is the son of man. The other end which reaches heaven indicates that He is the Son of God. Today, He stands before you as a son of man and a Son of God. Dear children of God, “He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:27).

To meditate: “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth” (Psalm 145:18).
