Apr 10 – WORTHY OF PRAISE !

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever” (Psalm 136:1)

You should not just stop with the tasting the goodness of the Lord. But every day, you should remember with grateful hearts, His wondrous grace, which endures forever.

His grace never departs from you nor forsakes you. He is forever worthy of all our praise, all our worship, glory and honour.

When King Solomon dedicated the Temple of God, all the Priests and the Levites, were determined to praise and thank Him in one voice. But they were not sure of one common attribute of God, to praise and thank Him. For He had led them with loving kindness, He had established God’s people and given them the land of Canaan as their inheritance and bestowed them with thousands of blessings.

Finally, they decided to focus on one common attribute which will capture the essence of all the benefits that they have received. And that one attribute is the grace of God. So, they kept on praising and sang: “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever”.

The Scripture says: The Lord, He is good, for His grace endures forever. When they worshipped Him, the temple of God was filled with a cloud (2 Chronicles 5:13).

When you declare that the Lord is good and praise His grace, He is extremely pleased in His heart. The Lord who filled the temple of God with a cloud on that day, will also fill your heart, which is the temple of God, with His glory, because you are the dwelling place of the Spirit of God.

Therefore, with all your heart and with all joy, praising: “God for He is good, as His mercy endures forever”.

Psalm 136 is indeed a unique psalm, as every verse ends with the statement: “His mercy endures forever”. The first verse of the psalm declares that the Lord is good and all the following verses reiterate why God is worthy of our praise.

Our God, who is worthy of all our praise, gives us a promise today. “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you” (Isaiah 54:10).

Children of God, will you worship the Lord, saying over and over again that His mercy endures forever? Then the clouds of glory will surround you. The Lord is good, and He will fill you with all good things. He alone is worthy of our praise.

Verse for further meditation: “Who remembered us in our lowly state, For His mercy endures forever” (Psalm 136:23).
