Mar 4 – RAISE THE DEAD!

“…raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (Mathew 10:8).

When we read the powers and governance which God gave to His disciples that day and gives to you today, the most important among them is ‘Resurrect the dead.”

We read about Jesus Christ raising three persons from the dead in the 5th and 7th chapters in the book of Mark, and the 11th chapter in the book of John.

Firstly, He resurrected the daughter of Jairus, who was one of the rulers of the synagogue. Second, comes the widow of Nain’s son. Thirdly, Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary came back to life.

Jesus resurrected the daughter of Jairus, at his residence. He brought the widow of Nain’s son back to life on the street.  Whereas the resurrection happened in the graveyard for Lazarus. Yes. Jesus Christ does wonder by resurrecting the dead at home, road or cemetery.

Here, you can notice one more thing. The daughter of Jairus came alive on the day of her death. The widow of Nain’s dead son came back to life one day after his death. But, it was on the fourth day, Lazarus was made alive. So, Jesus Christ can do wonders at any place and at any time. For doing wonders, time, and venue are of no importance to God.

When Jesus resurrected the daughter of Jairus, He took the child by the hand and said, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” When He raised the widow of Nain’s son, He touched the bier that held the body

But, during the third miracle, when He resurrected Lazarus, Jesus did not touch the hands or the bier or the stone placed atop the tomb but stood outside and cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” Lazarus walked out alive. Jesus Christ is powerful to do wonder in all ways.

Once, God took Ezekiel, the prophet to a valley where the dry bones were in plenty. The bones were very many in the open valley, and also they were dry. In obedience to the Word of God, Prophet Ezekiel prophesied, and all the bones came back to life and stood up. The Spirit of life entered them, and on the resurrection, they stood like an army.

Dear children of God, resurrect the dead. Cast out the demons. Freely you have received, freely give. This command is one which God gives you.

To meditate: “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1).
