Mar 11 – RENEW YOUR MIND!

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2).

Let the mind get renewed. It is the clear mind which brings healthy thoughts. Healthy thoughts shape up a strong life. The body of a man and his life get blessed when his thoughts turn towards God. Just like how a horse is turned with the help of a bridle when you use the Scripture as the bridle for your soul and turn it towards God, you receive eternal blessings and eternal joy. All the spirit, soul and body are equally important to the children of God.

The Greeks of the ancient period gave more importance to the soul. Their philosophy was that they need not show any attention towards the development of the body. But you, the Christians, should not show concern only to the soul and neglect the body. The body also should be shown the importance on par with the soul because your body is the place where God dwells. Paul the apostle, points out “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (I Corinthians 6:19).

Unless there is a wall, how could art be drawn on it? Unless the body is there, how could one work for God? Only until you stay in this body, you can carry the Cross for Christ, Praise Him, sing for Him, render witness, preach and carry out the ministry.

Paul asks you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God. He further says, “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Some people wear the guise of the world. They lead the life of the world for six days and guise like Christians on Sundays.

Some other people continue with the names of the gentiles even after getting saved. They do this for availing certain privileges earmarked for the gentiles. The world can be cheated but not God. Your mind should become new, and only then you will get transformed. Dear children of God, when Christ comes, your spirit, soul and body should be blemishless before Him. May, you prepare yourself for that now itself.     To meditate: “…we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (I John 3:2).
