Feb 13 – DEAR CHILDREN!

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children” (Ephesians 5:1).

You are the children of God. When you come to know His Name fully and accept Him, you become His children. When it is so, how to become His beloved children? Yes. When you behave pleasingly and do God-pleasing things in your life, you move from the present position of children to loving children. Then, you begin to call Him Abba, Father with the spirit of adoption and love.

Jesus Christ is the son of the Lord God, and He was a beloved Son too.  He is the authority of Salvation, who came to the world to guide many children to the glory. Only when He came up out of the river Jordan after getting baptised, He received the high status to become ‘Beloved Son.’ The Scripture says, “And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Mathew 3:17).

When He was in the Mount of Transfiguration with his disciples, He received the high status of being called ‘Beloved Son’ again. The Lord God witnessed saying “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him” (Mathew 17:5).

The whole of the life of Jesus remained as one to please the Lord always. He did not lead an illusory life to please the men. The world called Him ‘friend of the sinners,’ ‘Glutton’ and ‘Beelzebub.’ The Pharisees and Sadducees hated Him. The priests continuously tried to find fault with Him. But Jesus Christ did everything in a way pleasing to God and thus, got certified as ‘beloved Son.’ 

Dear children of God? What witness God will give about you? Will He witness as ‘Beloved Son?’ Will He call you saying ‘Beloved Son’ and ‘Beloved Daughter?’ Think about this. Are you doing what pleases God? Or, are you saddening and troubling Him Him? King David looked up to God and prayed, “I delight to do your will, O my God” (Psalm 40:8).

Dear children of God, are you willing to do things which will please God? Do you whole-heartedly love Him and please Him? Are you behaving like His beloved children? 

To meditate: “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death and was not found, because God had taken him; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5).
