Feb 11 – HIGH PRIEST!
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).
Jesus Christ is our High Priest. He is the High Priest who blesses us from the right side of the Father. The worldly High Priest will enter once in a year the Most Holy place with reverence, wearing the appropriate garment and after making several sacrifices.
After ministering the priestly duties and after putting frankincense, he will stay alone in the presence of God and plead for his people. While rendering such services in the Most Holy place, the golden bells attached to his robe will keep on making a sound.
When the Holy Priest stays inside, a multitude of people will be waiting outside, eagerly waiting for the High Priest to come out and bless them with the blessings of the divine presence, received inside. The sound of the golden bells ringing inside the Most Holy place will keep on announcing that the High Priest is pleading for them and also that he is alive.
If the High Priest had entered the Most Holy place with sins and dirt, he will fall dead unable to face the Shekinah glory of God. If this happens, the sound of the golden bells cannot be heard, from outside.
At that time, the people will hold the other end of the chain tied to the legs of the High Priest and pull it, and his dead body will only be coming out. It will be a great joy for the people until the sound from the golden bells is heard from outside. They will be filled with joy that the High Priest is alive, their eagerness about when he will come out and the joy that they are going to receive the blessing
Jesus Christ is your High Priest. He is making intercession for you from the right side of the Father, which is the Most Holy place. The Scripture says, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
Even today the sounds of the bells keep ringing. That is the sound of the Gifts of the Spirit and the sound of the revival. It is the sound of the Holy Spirit whom God has sent for you. Dear children of God, your heart will feel the sound of the intercession made by Jesus Christ from the right side of the Father.
To meditate: “For I know that my Redeemer lives and He shall stand at last on the earth” (Job 19:25).
