Feb 03 – AS A MIGHTY ONE!

“But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One.Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten” (Jeremiah 20:11).

God is Almighty. Jeremiah, the prophet mentions as ‘Awesome Mighty’. God is one to show love towards you and one to fight with your enemies. So, those who persecute you can never prevail over you.

You may be honest to the core and show your immeasurable love towards others, but people will fail to understand all these things and will try to persecute you. You may drive your vehicle carefully, following all the traffic regulations but even then the person driving a lorry would come like a wicked one to dash against you from the front. Some people show anger towards you without any reasons, and some others meaninglessly get irritated against you.

But, God is always with you. Those who try to persecute you cannot continue to do the same.  The strength which the enemies possess, to prevail over you, will be taken away from them. What they plan will not happen. They will get into unforgettable everlasting confusion.

A brother returned to India after working in a foreign country. Many people here were jealous of him and so, were involved in acts of sorcery in order to prevent him from occupying his newly built house. But he firmly clung on to the Lord. Men who resorted to black magic kept trying again and again to bring his downfall. On the contrary, the effect of the ritual boomeranged against them.

Jesus Christ said, ‘He who touches you, touches the apple of my eye.’ He is indeed the author of love, and it is also true that He is the lamb but at the same time, He also remains as the King Lion of the Jews and as the Lord of hosts. God who said, ‘No weapon formed against you shall prosper’ is firm in destroying all the weapons formed against you. “God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?” (Job 9:4).

Dear children of God, when evil people rise against you, do not take the fight in your own hands but take it to God. God, the Almighty will do justice to you.

To meditate: “The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies” (Isaiah 42:13).
