Jan 29 – WHATEVER HE DOES!

“…whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:3).

For some people, all they do prosper. But, for some, nothing works out. What is the reason for this? Some people ask, “There are hurdles for us in all our endeavours. Why is it that nothing prospers for us?”

The reason is that they have forgotten the Scripture. They do not like to read the Scripture and do not allocate time to meditate it. Nothing prospers for them as they have not given top priority to God but have given it to worldly things.

The Scripture says, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord and His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:2, 3).

There is a funny story. Once a villager came to the city and bought a costly umbrella. When he came out of a shop, it began to rain heavily. The man did not know how to open and hold the umbrella and so went running, placing a piece of cloth on his head. Some people laughed at him while some others pitied him. The shop owner felt sorry for him, and so he ran behind him and helped him in opening the umbrella.

Similar to this, many people have a Bible in their hands, but they do not know how to use the promises given in it. When problems and sorrows dash against them, they are unable to face them and spend their time sadly. God has written His glory in the Scripture, and you should not treat it as something unknown.

Look at the life of David. As told, “Whatever he does shall prosper”. God made all efforts of David to prosper. From a low status, God exalted him to rule the Israelites for forty years. The reason is the love David had over the Scripture, his Scripture reading and his meditation on it.

David says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. With my lips, I have declared all the judgments of your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will delight myself in your statutes; I will not forget your word” (Psalm 119:11, 13, 14, 16).

To meditate: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
