Jan 15 – PERFECT SANCTIFICATION!

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (I Thessalonians 5:23).

Our God sanctifies our spirit, soul and body and makes us stand firm to the end. God alone is one to give us His holiness to us.

God aims to sanctify you completely. He wants to make you stand blemishless during the Coming of Christ. It is for this purpose that God has given you the Holy Spirit. The Scripture says, “…the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:16).

The first thing He does is that He delivers the man from the power of the sin. That day, when Peter preached, the Holy Spirit worked within every heart of the people there. Thereby, the people repented for their sins. They asked, “Brothers, what must we do to be saved?” The reason for this is that the Holy Spirit makes one to understand the world of its sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:18).

Secondly, the Holy Spirit enables the children of God to win over sins. He promises that you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you (Acts 1:8). So, with the power of the Holy Spirit, you turn the defeats into victories.

Thirdly, the Holy Spirit brings power. It gives you the strength to do the ministry, power to deliver the souls from the hands of satan, the power to establish churches breaking the gates of the hade and power and grace to do good things for the people. The Scripture says, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

Fourthly, the Holy Spirit perfects you in holiness and brings the divine characteristic in you by dwelling within you. The Scripture says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (I Corinthians 3:16). Dear children of God, the Holy Spirit will dwell within you and guide you through the experience of transfiguration.

To meditate: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Corinthians 3:18).
