Dec 25 – CHRISTMAS GREETINGS!

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?” (Mathew 2:2).

I extend my loving Christmas wishes to my dear readers, from the bottom of my heart. May the Lord shower His blessings upon you as you celebrate this special occasion with your family and children!

That day, when the wise men came in search of Jesus, they inquired asking, “Where is He, who has been born King of the Jews?” They should have asked, “Where is He, who has been born as the King of kings for the whole world and the universe?”

Though the birth of our loving Saviour was in a manger, His birth is a royal one indeed. God, the Father, sent a special star to the world to reveal His greatness. When the wise men went and bowed, they presented gifts like gold, frankincense, and myrrh to Him just as how the kings were treated. The angels and the innocent shepherds also bowed before Him and worshipped Him. The wise men fell flat on the ground and worshipped Him. On this day of celebration, you may also worship the King of kings.

Firstly, He is the King of the sacred. The Scripture says, “Lord God Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the saints!” (Revelation 15:3). The baby of Bethlehem was not only holy but also one to bring in holiness among people.

Secondly, He is the King of glory. The Scripture says, “Lift your heads, O you gates! Lift, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in” (Psalm 24:9). O you gates of Bethlehem, O gates of the manger, One, who has born in you is a King of glory.  Heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain His glory.

Thirdly, He is a king of humility. The Scripture says, “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Mathew 21:5).

Fourthly, He is a righteous King. The Prophet Isaiah says, “Behold, a king will reign in righteousness and princes will rule with justice” (Isaiah 32:1). ‘Jesus Christ, who builds righteousness and justice and who is the King of righteousness, will rule righteously. He is my King’ (Psalm 5:2). He is the King of the beginning (Psalm 74:2). He is the “King of righteousness,” “King of Salem, meaning King of peace” (Hebrews 7:2). He is the “Everlasting King” (Jeremiah 10:10).

Dear children of God, One who has born as the King of the Jews dwells in you. He stays with you as Immanuel. He is the King of kings.
