Dec 22 – SHALL NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME!

“…my people shall never be put to shame” (Joel 2:26).

When the Second World War was in full swing, the Government issued an order in which it insisted that all the children, residing in London, should be taken to some other place of safety. Accordingly, the process of shifting the children began with an exclusive vehicle.  The parents of the deported children were very much worried. The thought of the separation of their children, the uncertainty whether they could meet their children again and where the war would lead them, tormented them.

 One little girl wiped the tears of her mother and said, “Mother, we do not know where we are going and when we will return. But our King has taken charge of everything, and he will take care. He will ensure that we will never be put to shame.” These words of the little girl greatly consoled her mother.

Go through the life of Job, the devotee. What great sorrows and what great sufferings! He did not know where the sickness in his body was leading him, but even in that situation, he said,      “But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). God never allowed Job to be put to shame. Satan tried his level best and the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning.

Dear children of God, the Lord tells you with love “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people shall never be put to shame” (Joel 2:26). The Scripture says, that His people would never be put to shame.

God prepares you a table in the presence of your enemies and anoints your head with oil. You will never be put to shame. The Scripture says, “Our fathers trusted in you; they trusted, and you delivered them. They cried to you and were delivered; they trusted in you and were not ashamed” (Psalm 22:4, 5).

Look at the life of Abraham. Placing his faith on God, he left his place, people and everything and departed to the place where God commanded him to go. Was he put to shame? No, never.

Dear children of God, God will never forsake you. You will never be put to shame.

To meditate: “But Israel shall be saved by the Lord with an everlasting salvation;
you shall not be ashamed or disgraced forever and ever” (Isaiah 45:17).
