Nov 13 – MOUNTAIN OF BACKSLIDE!

“The Lord said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: “Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree and there played the harlot” (Jeremiah 3:6).

Look at the verse given above. There you see a mountain. What mountain is that? That is the spirit of fornication; a spirit of adultery. This spirit looks like a mountain in many families. Many people who have been afflicted by this spirit remain disgusted. Many families have been affected by this spirit.

In many families, the husbands accuse the wives over sexual immorality while the wives accuse their husbands in the same way. How pathetic this is! Satan attracts the people by deceiving them with the worldly lusts. Many a time, believers are unable to oppose and fight with these spirits of adultery. They lament for being unable to overcome the temptation caused by lusts, for becoming weak in faith and for being unable to bear the pricking of conscience.

Dear children of God, you might also have been afflicted with such evil spirits. You may also be slowly getting diverted from the right path. You may be struggling for being unable to get rid of such an illicit relationship and worldly pleasures. You may lament for having fallen into such pits often and for being unable to come out of them.

Look at that mountain and condemn it with faith in the Name of Jesus Christ. Seek the fellowship of the children of God. Take part in spiritual meetings. God is powerful to rescue you. God who rebuked the wind and sea will push these wicked mountains into the sea. Put a full stop to these things today. Let this mountain be pushed into the sea. Discard all the relationships disliked by God.

Dear children of God, imagine how you will discard a snake when it climbs on your hand. React in the same way to the sinful lusts and the illicit relationships. Protect the holiness. Do not ever back-slide.

To meditate: “Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow” (Psalm 51:7).
