Sep – 18 – PEACE THE FRUIT!
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…” (Galatians 5:22).
A special fruit among the fruits of the Spirit is peace. You feel happy while receiving it and you feel the same when you give it also. This peace which is the fruit of the Spirit will also act combining with other fruits. Love, joy and peace are closely related to one another.
In the life of Christ, the fruits of the Spirit were seen in full. When you accept Christ within you, His characteristics should get revealed in your life. You should also live, yielding the fruits of the Spirit. Only then your life will be filled with peace.
When we receive the anointment of the Holy Spirit, the gifts and fruits of the Spirit come into us. The Heavenly Father gives you the gifts of the Spirit. But you happily give the fruits of the Spirit to God. The Scripture says, “…. at our gates are pleasant fruits, all manner, new and old, which I have laid up for you, my beloved” (Song of Solomon 7:13).
If you want to receive this fruit of peace, you will have to stand firm in Christ. Jesus said, “Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me” (John 15:4).
An atheist spoke about all the creations of man and harshly said, “There is no God and even if there is one, we do not require him.” One Christian brother who was there heard the speech of the atheist and told him, “Sir, look at the tiny ant. How peacefully it runs around! Can you create a small creature like an ant? Can you receive the peace which that ant has?”
That atheist gave a thought over this. Though he had been talking atheism always, he was suffering in his life as it was devoid of peace. Accepting the fact, he replied the Christian brother, “Yes. It is not possible to obtain peace with human wisdom.”
Yes. Divine peace is a gift graciously given by God. The situations might change, the sorrows might disappear but amid all these things the peace will stand firm. The peace which stands firm is nothing else but the peace given by God. Its end is also sweet. Dear children of God, receive the everlasting peace with the help of the Holy Spirit. This is a great blessing which could be received by the believers alone. This is a great fruit which the Holy Spirit gives free of cost.
To meditate: “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).
