JUNE 19 – YOU HAVE LOOSENED MY BONDS!

“O LORD,…..I am your servant, ….you have loosed my bonds” (Psalm 116:16).

God delivers you from your bonds. The Scripture says, “He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound” (Isaiah 61:1).

When Jesus Christ delivered a woman who had been inflicted with a spirit of infirmity and remained bent for eighteen years, she glorified God. Yes. It was a binding of satan. Even today, satan has bound many people with sorceries and witchcraft. But, when the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:36). There are no binds from which Jesus Christ could not deliver.

For some people, sickness remains as the bond. The sickness keeps on weakening them. Since this is a binding, the afflicted people are unable to rise and shine for God. A woman suffered for eighteen years due to the spirit of infirmity. She had spent a lot to get healed but did not succeed. But when she came to Jesus, the bindings were cut off in the blink of an eye. The power of God flew into her and healed her.

Nicodemus had a binding. It was a traditional one. Since he was a Pharisee, he was unable to follow Jesus openly. He came to Jesus during the night without the knowledge of others (John 3:2). Even today, many people, despite knowing the deep truths of the Scripture, are unable to worship God spiritually and truly due to the church bindings.

Some others have been kept bound by unbelief. They keep speaking words of defeat and unbelief, thereby preventing God from doing miracles. Lazarus had died and Jesus went to resurrect him. But the sisters of Lazarus did not have faith. Mary, one of his sisters said, Lord if you had been here, my brother would not have died” (John 11:32).

Even after Jesus had come near the tomb, Martha another sister of Lazarus said, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days” (John 11:39). But, when Jesus cried with a loud voice saying, “Lazarus, come forth”, he who had died came out. But, his hands and legs had been tied with grave clothes. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go” (John 11:43, 44).

Dear children of God, “Cut off the binds” is the command God gives you today.”
