JUNE 3 – TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD!

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God” (Romans 8:28).

Those who show love towards God will always be rejoicing in Him. They will always praise God. Further, they know that God does everything good for those who love Him. The Psalmist says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).

There is an ancient story that originated from China. A devoted Christian was raising a wonderful horse of a high breed. One day, all of a sudden, the horse ran away. His wife, children and relatives felt very sad about that.

But that devoted person did not care about the incident and consoled himself by saying that God will do only good things for him. What a surprise! After a week, the horse returned along with some wild horses. That devotee happily added those wild horses also in his stable. His happiness multiplied at this.

Following this joyous situation, the horse trampled on the son of its master and broke his leg. The neighbours came to the man asked him with all sadness, why such a sad thing happened to him that too when he is a devotee. But that devotee consoled himself, saying that all things work together for good to those who love God.

After a few days, a terrific war broke out in his nation. All the youth were compulsorily commissioned to participate in the war. Many of them lost their lives in the war. But the son of this devotee was able to stay at home without going to the war for want of physical fitness. Thus, he escaped from death.

You may also come across such sad situations in your life and you will be putting the simple question ‘Why, why, why’ without being able to understand the correct cause for the mis-happening. But, when you enter into eternity, you will understand that God has done everything for your good and praise Him for His endlesswisdom, grace and power.

Dear children of God, never forget that He does everything for your good.

To meditate: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen” (II Corinthians 4:17, 18).
