MAY 15 – HE WILL TURN INTO BLESSING!

“…the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you” (Deuteronomy 23:5).

Our God is one to break the curses. He is one to create blessed fountains to replace the curses. Man realizes the terrible power of the curses only when he gets attacked by them, and at that time, he struggles with the feeling that who will come for his rescue. While some curses come from God, some come due to violation of laws. Some other curses are cast by people upon others when they face treason and betrayal. Some others voluntarily shoulder certain curses and carry them.

When the primitive man sinned, the earth got cursed because of him. Thus, the cursed earth could yield thorns and thistles alone. It was thorns everywhere, and the man began to long for deliverance from those terrible ones.

The curse which came from God could be broken only by God. That was why God descended on earth in the name of Jesus Christ. He accepted the thorn, which was the sign for the curse, on His head as crown. Those thorns tore His head, and He experienced the hardship of the curse through the thorns. Blood came out from His head because of the crown of thorns.

When a man stands before Jesus Christ wearing the crown of thorns and pleads, “You became the curse for our sake. Will you turn my curses through the blood coming out from the crown of thorns”, God will turn every curse into a blessing. There was a curse in the United States of America. The people there caught the blacks, made them the slaves and auctioned them, similar to the sale of cattle. Those slaves had no options to seek justice.

Abraham Lincoln saw their plight and empathised with them. He passed the laws for them to get delivered and also a state of independence in the country. But shockingly, a person who opposed this legislation shot at Lincoln and mercilessly killed him. The blacks participated in the funeral in multitude. One black woman standing in the midst of the crowd lifted her child and said, “Look at him. He died for your sake”. All the people around cried on seeing this.

Dear children of God, plead to God to turn your curses, and He will surely show mercy upon you.

To meditate: “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)” (Galatians 3:13).
