MAY 7 – WITH THE SPIRIT AND POWER!

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

If Jesus Christ Himself needed the anointment of the Holy Spirit and the filling of it, how essential are they for you! Only when you get filled with it you will receive the power of God immeasurably.

Lord Father anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was filled with the anointment and commenced the ministry. If you want to reflect Jesus Christ in your life and ministry, what you need the most is the Holy Spirit. The fullness of the Holy Spirit is necessary for one to lead a life of witness. Further, the gifts of the Spirit are needed for one to prevail over the gates of hade.

Many people are of the opinion that to receive the Holy Spirit they have to clap their hands, shake their body and speak in tongues. There is one thing that is greater than all these outward signs. That is the divine power that fills the inner man. When God filled Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit, power was also part of it.

When we read the life of Jesus Christ in the Scripture, we find that He was always leaning upon the Holy Spirit. We read that He prayed alone before going for the ministry. We also read that He performed many miracles with the power of the Holy Spirit. When we pray filled with the Holy Spirit, we can feel the Holy Spirit within us getting rekindled. It is because of the revelation of the Holy Spirit that we can witness miracles in our lives.

Many people get satisfied with being able to speak in tongue. On achieving this itself, the thought of pride that they are superior to all other Christians comes into them. They never realize the importance of the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Some people are afraid of witchcraft and sorceries even after receiving the Holy Spirit. Though these people were blessed with the Holy Spirit, it was powerless. They merely give importance to the outward signs, and as a result, the inner man remains powerless.

Dear children of God, as possessors of the Holy Spirit, you have to shake the nation, heal sicknesses and perform great miracles.

To meditate: “…he who believes in me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do” (John 14:12).
