APRIL 12 – GOD WHO LOVES!

“Yes, He loves the people; all His saints are in your hand; they sit down at your feet; everyone receives your words” (Deuteronomy 33:3).

What is the Good News which every page of the Bible says? It is nothing but “He loves the people.” Moses says, “Yes, He really loves the people.”

Moses spent his first forty years in the palace of Pharaoh. He realised that it was purely the love of God which protected him in a papyrus basket and took him safely to the palace of Pharaoh’. Moses also understood that the purpose for God to make him stay in his father-in-law Jethro’s home for forty years, was for God to train him with love. Further, He experienced the immeasurable love and friendliness of God for the next forty years.

Moses was in ecstasy to see God loving His people and delivering them from the captivity of Pharaoh. He kept on thinking about how God loved His children and fed them with heavenly manna which was the food for the angels. So, at the age of one hundred and twenty years, he decided to assemble those people and tell them the message of love.

That message was “Yes, He loves the people.” He is the beginning of love and fullness of love too. He is the Alpha and Omega of love. He who said “I am who I am” (Exodus 3:14) stays unchangeable in love.

Your heart may seek a perfect friend. Your heart may be longing for love. In our life, when we encounter various confusions, burdens and struggles, we yearn for love and protective refuge.  Today, Jesus calls you with love. “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, with loving-kindness, I have drawn you” (Jeremiah 31:3).

The Scripture says that God is with love, and He is always with it (I John 4:8). God loves you with immeasurable love. It is that love that was poured as a sacrifice. His body got ripped in Calvary. It is the love which fell on the ground as big drops of blood. Is it not that love which turned into a fountain opened from His ribs? Oh! Praise Him for that peak of love.

To meditate: “ In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him” (I John 4:9).
