APRIL 11 – GOD, THE CREATOR!

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).

Our God is God of creations. It is for the man that God created the heaven and the earth. In the Tamil version of the Scripture, the word வானம்’ represents heaven. This word is not merely pointing out the sky, but it indicates heaven and all the armies there. Even before creating man, God created all the angels in heaven, for serving the man.

However great a scientist of the world may be, he cannot create an atom by himself. He is just changing the things created by God into new ones. God did not give the power of creation to the angels or men. A large quantity of fuel and electricity may be required to make an atom. All these are the creations of God, and no scientist could create these things. Our God is so great!

How great and glorious is He who created the highest heavens, sun, moon and the numerous stars! Whether it is visible or invisible, everything has been created by our God. The Scripture says, “For your maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth” (Isaiah 54:5).

The very first verse of the Scripture introduces God the creator to you. That verse is “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Is it not your pride and joy for that mighty, glorious and powerful God to be your loving Father? Do not forget that, that God of creation is gracious to create wonderful things in your life, even today.

The Scripture says, “O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1). Is there anyone as glorious and as mighty as our God? Is there anyone who could love and protect you as He does?

Dear children of God, all His creations praise Him. Will you also praise Him? “And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that is in them, I heard saying: Blessing and honour and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever” (Revelation 5:13).

To meditate: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (II Corinthians 5:17).
