Mar 29 – YOU SHALL BE ABOVE!

“And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath” (Deuteronomy 28:13).

You are the children of the King of kings. What does God want about you? His wish is that you should be the head and you should prosper. That is why He says, “You shall be above only, and not be beneath.”

No one likes to be the tail. Whose heart will like defeat? Naturally, everyone has the desire to reach the top level and get appreciated by others. It is because of this, they compete with each other and move forward.

Whomever God guides, he or she will get elevated. They will be above and not beneath. The Scripture says, “So the Lord alone led him…He made him ride in the heights of the earth, that he might eat the produce of the fields; He made him draw honey from the rock, and oil from the flinty rock” (Deuteronomy 32:13).

Look at Joseph! He was sold as a slave and taken to Egypt. But God exalted him as the highest authority of Egypt. Joseph did not forget God doing good for him. He told his brothers, “So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 45:8). “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory” (I Samuel 2:8).

Look at the exaltation of David. While he was grazing the sheep, God exalted him by giving the reign of Israel. Moreover, this happened before the family of Saul. God says, “…I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel. And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth” (II Samuel 7:8, 9).

Dear children of God, look at Daniel! He was imprisoned by Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon, but God exalted him greatly. The Scripture says, “And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding” (Daniel 2:21).To meditate: “Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken” (Isaiah 58:14).
