Mar 28 – GOVERNING AUTHORITY!

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities” (Romans 13:1).

God gives you authority and power. At the same time, He expects you to obey your superiors. Jesus Christ has authority over both the world and heaven. But still, He remained under the authority of the Father. He told that to do the will of the Lord the Father was His food. He was always waiting for the Word of God.

You have received the authority through the Jesus Christ, the Son. God has given you authority over the evil spirits, sickness, nature, and every power of the enemy. At the same time, you should always live in obedience to His authority. You should submit yourself as one who obeys Him.

Some people wish to perform miracles and signs in the Name of God, but they will not obey the Scripture. They will not be obedient to the servants of God who guide them. The Scripture says that every man should, obey his superiors.

The centurion says, “For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes” (Mathew 8:9). He is a centurion with authority, but he should inevitably obey the commander of the Roman Kingdom.

Take, for example, a family. If you are a wife, God has put your husband as the authority above you. You obey God by obeying to your husband. When you are obedient to the power of your husband, your children will remain obedient to your authority. Your commands also will be respected.

That day, if Eve had obeyed Adam, she would not have accepted the idea of the serpent. She would not have decided on her own accord and tasted the fruit. Dear children of God, irrespective of the high position God has placed you in, wholeheartedly obey your superiors. Then, God will honour your words and exalt you.  To meditate: “…your kingdom shall be assured to you, after you come to know that Heaven rules” (Daniel 4:26).
