Mar 26 – THREE HOUSES!

“Now You have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue before you forever; for you have blessed it, O Lord, and it shall be blessed forever” (I Chronicles 17:27).

Here, we will be meditating about three houses, which are as follows. (1) The home where you reside (2) the home that is the church of God and (3) the home which is heaven.

Firstly, God elevated David from humility, anointed him as the king of Israel and helped him reside in a palace built with cedar wood. Even after becoming the king, he did not forget God, who had elevated him. The ark of the covenant of the Lord was under the tent curtains, and this made him sad.

The Scripture says, “David said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains” (I Chronicles 17:1).

God was happy to see that David was eager to build a temple for Him. He looked up to David and promised, “And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom” (I Chronicles 17:11).

When you are zealous over the church of God, He will bless your home. God dwells in you. Your body is the one received from God, and it is the home where the Spirit of God dwells. So, if you dedicate your body to be the temple of God, He will bless you and your family.

Secondly, this is a home which is the temple. David had immeasurable love over the temple of God. The heart of God rejoiced when David said, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” Whenever you go to the church of God, do not forget that it is a prayer house. You see the brotherly fellowship and the praise of God there. You wholeheartedly worship Him there.

Thirdly, this is the home which is heaven. King David says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:6).

Dear children of God, for all those who dedicate their body as a temple for God to dwell, He will surely give them His heavenly home. To meditate: “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).
