Mar 22 – IMPORTANT QUESTION!

“…what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17).

If at all there is a truth in this world, which a man should understand, it is this. It is the question which should be posted in everyone’s life. What should we do to inherit eternal life?

Once, a rich young man came to Jesus. He knelt before Jesus and asked this question. ‘What should I do’ was the question asked. Jesus asked him to follow all the commandments given in the Scripture. In reply, he said, “Teacher, all these things I have followed from my youth.”

Jesus Christ scrutinises and understands the heart of every man. Nothing is invisible to Him. Though he told that he is following God’s commandments from his youth, God knew that he had not dedicated his life entirely to God. The reason for him not inheriting the eternal life is that he had not fully dedicated his life to God. When God talked to him about the perfect dedication of life to God, he sadly went away. He is one among the few persons who went away sadly even after coming to Jesus Christ.

God is one who tests your heart and mind. Only when you dedicate your life fully to God, you can inherit eternal life. The dedicated life brings the power of God in your life. It gives you eternal life. 

Paul, the apostle says, “Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead” (Philippians 3:8-11).

Dear children of God, God will use you powerfully in proportion to the level in which you dedicate your life for Him. To meditate: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).
