Dec 2 – WILL TEACH YOU THE WAY!

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye” (Psalm 32:8).

God has repeatedly promised to say “I will guide you.” How does He guide you? Firstly He preaches with His Scripture and guides you. His word is a lamp to the feet and a light to the path (Psalm 119:105). Those who delight in the law of the Lord and meditate His Word day and night will clearly understand what His will is in their lives.

It is not like simply closing the eyes, placing the finger on any one of the verses and trying to understand what His will is. It is to show the same thirst and liking for the Word of the Lord which is a blemishless milk of wisdom as to eating food day after day.

In all situations, George Muller was waiting for the Biblical verse to know the guidance of the Lord. That great man who took care of around ten thousand orphan children did not seek the help of any man but sought the counsel of God, standing on his knees. God also guided him wonderfully for the whole of his lifetime. There was nothing short for George Muller or to his orphan children.

Secondly, God guides you with the Holy Spirit. The Scripture says, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). The whole of the life of Jesus Christ had been a life guided by the Holy Spirit.

He who took birth and grew up through the Spirit went to the wilderness by the Spirit. He returned to Galilea with the strength of the Spirit. With the Spirit He tolerated, resurrected and entered into glory. He gave the same Spirit who had guided Him in His life in the world, to His disciples.

When you read the book of Acts, you will understand how wonderfully the Spirit God guided the disciples and the Apostles. Philip was directed by the Holy Spirit to go near and overtake the chariot (Acts 8:29). He guided Peter to go with the people sent by Cornelius (Acts 10:20). He guided Philip to go to the town to do ministry and establish a church there.

God guides you. He provides His counsel by sending His angels. He speaks to you through nature, dreams and visions. Dear children of God, wait for the counsel of God every morning.  

To meditate: “For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guideeven to death” (Psalm 48:14).
