Nov 10 – NEHEMIAH AND THE OPPOSITION!

“Give your servant success today by granting him favour in the presence of this man” (Nehemiah 1:11).

When you take efforts to do big things for God, Satan will bring opposition and hurdles against them. He will surely rise and do things against the genuine ministries.

When Nehemiah initiated with reverence to build a temple for God and walls around Jerusalem, he faced numerous objections. The enemy fought vehemently. But, at the same time, God stood with him. God inspired the people to stand with Nehemiah. The people of God were also eager to offer sacrificially to the ministry and to fulfil the responsibilities with dedication. The Ministry with sacrifice and dedication is incomparable.

Dear children of God, you should be ready to commit any sacrifice to extend the Kingdom of God in earth. God will surely command great results to your ministry when you decide to pay any price for the sake of revival.

When Nehemiah initiated to build the walls, the resistance arrived. People like Sabdallat and Tobiah rose against Nehemiah. The Scripture says, “they were deeply disturbed that a man had come to seek the well-being of the children of Israel” (Nehemiah 2:10).

Satan remains as an enemy to the people of God. Whichever man toils hard for Salvation of souls is subjected to the attack of Satan. Whenever you begin an effort towards the Salvation of souls, the enemies of God will mock and make fun of you. They will make fun of you by calling you a fool.

Look at Nehemiah. Both of his enemies made Nehemiah despair, with their mockery and accusations. We read in Nehemiah 4:3 that they mocked Nehemiah saying, “Whatever they build, if even a fox goes upon it, he will break down their stone wall.” But he did not care to answer these people. Instead, what did he do? He knelt and began to pray. What a fervent prayer it was! You can read the prayer in Nehemiah 4:4, 5. Under all situations, he decided to pray against all factors of mockery, reproaches, hurdles and struggles.

Dear children of God, you also may learn to pray that way.

To meditate: “Remember me, O my God, concerning this and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God and for its services!” (Nehemiah 13:14).
