Oct – 19 – YOUNG MAN!

“Young man, I say to you, arise” (Luke 7:14).

A famous American industrialist named Ford invented the new car. It took quickly took him to a great height in life. One day a youth met him and asked, “Honourable Mr Ford, you have earned a lot of wealth and money. What are you going to do with them? Why don’t you give them to me?”

The industrialist said, “My dear youth, if you can give your young age and your youth stage to me, please give them to me. In turn, I will give you all my wealth and money. If I become young now, I can earn several times of wealth and money what I have today, before becoming this old again.” Only then, the youngster understood the greatness of the youth stage than all the money and wealth.

Yes. Youth stage is a precious stage in life. The youth part alone is the spring season in one’s life. Look at the government. While recruiting candidates for the army or the government service, they look out for youngsters only. The politicians look for the student community to work for the development of their parties. Even satan targets and exploits the youngsters alone as he draws them towards him by attracting them with the lusts of the world.

Dear children of God, think. To whom is your youth stage? Is it to the world, politicians, lusts or Jesus Christ? That day Jesus Christ saw a youth being dead. Do you know how sad His heart was? To what extent he would have cried? How much the mother would have cried? With compassion, Jesus commanded, “Young man, I say to you, arise”. So he … sat up. (Luke 7: 14, 15).

Having the appearance of a living person, do you stay as dead in the soul? God likes to raise to life, those who have died due to iniquities and sins. Jesus Christ has come nearer to you and says, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” God needs you. These lusts of the world should not be allowed to enslave your youth stage.

Solomon the wise counsels, “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Why should one remember the creator in the days of one’s youth? The son of the widow of Nain had to die at his youth stage. Such a situation should not come to all. Is it not? God who said, “Young man, arise” is powerful to bring you back to life and raise you.

Dear children of God, will you also dedicate your youth stage to God?

To meditate: “Both young men and maidens; Old men and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord” (Psalms 148:12,13).
