Oct – 14 – SHINE!
“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever” (Daniel 12:3).
God is the Sun of righteousness. You being His children have to shine. Is it not? Will you shine for God so that the entire world receives the joy you have received? You should not forget that God has kept you like the brightness of the firmament and the stars.
If it is true that God has lighted your lamp, you also have to light the flame of Salvation in others. It is necessary for you to arise and shine for God. Isaiah says, “Arise; shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1, 2).
Not only that. “The Gentiles shall come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising” (Isaiah 60:3). It is a firm promise which God gives you. Lack of boldness makes many people say “How can I shine like the stars in the sky? What will happen if I fall from there? Rather, I would prefer to lead a simple Christian life.”
Dear children of God do not get disheartened. God has taken you in His hands. God who has the seven stars in His right hand and He who moves amid the seven lampstands will make you shine like a star forever (Rev. 1:16, 20). He treats all those who toil hard for the Lord’s ministry, like the stars in His right hand. Yes. You are in the hands of God. Since you are doing His ministry, He protects you like the pupil of the eye.
“For He is our God and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand” (Psalm 95:7). Yes. Since you are sheep of His pasture, no one could ever snatch you from His hands. He is powerful to protect you from stumbling and make you stand faultless during His glorious Coming. You have to burn brightly for the sake of God.
Even the tiny firefly is able to give a little light to the world. Even the kerosene lamp provides light based on its capacity. The electric light provides light at its level.
Dear children of God, when Christ makes you shine brightly, is it not necessary for you to reflect Him and give light for His sake?
To meditate: “In Him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:4, 5).
