Oct – 12 – I HAVE COME, BEING SENT!
“O Daniel, man greatly beloved, …I have now been sent to you” (Daniel 10:11).
Meditate the words “I have now been sent to you.” The eyes of God are watching us persistently. When you are in sorrow, God sends His angels and strengthens you. Similarly, Gabriel the God-sent angel came to Zachariah at his old age (Luke 1:19).
There was a dedication of a small church in a village. The inner part of the church was decorated with numerous electrical lights while the wires connecting them were running all over the place. At the end of the dedication, someone unknowingly touched a live wire and was somehow electrocuted. Further, in the melee, the live wires fell on the crowd and all of them were greatly affected. Every one of them was struggling for life. At that moment, someone switched off the mains. Who could have boldly reached the mains and touched it to save so many people and this question still stays unanswered even today. My feeling is that an angel sent by God alone could have done that.
On earth, you stay as children in the family of God. In this heavenly family, the angels are always eager to help you. At the time of distress, the angels arrive speedily to help you. Paul the Apostle says, “For this reason, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named” (Ephesians 3:14, 15).
When a person gets saved on earth, not only the individual rejoices, but God and His angels also feel happy. They welcome the individual to the family of God. Jesus told that there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:7,10).
Though Cornelius was a gentile, he accepted God and remained with reverence. God willed that he should further grow spiritually. One day an angel directly appeared in the daylight before Cornelius and said, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. Now send men to Joppa and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. …. He will tell you what you must do” (Acts 10:4-6).
Dear children of God, the angels remain as God sent ones to guide you wonderfully.
To meditate: “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels” (Hebrews 12:22).
