Oct 11 – THEY LOVE YOU!

“…Rightly do they love you.” (Song of Solomon 1:4).  “…therefore, the virgins love you” (Song of Solomon 1:3)

Whoever comes to know Jesus Christ, cannot remain without loving Him.  The love, compassion and mercy of Jesus Christ make everyone love Him.

Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, once said, “I hate the Christians for their religious bigotry, rituals and traditions, hypocrisy and the conflicts. But I cannot ignore Jesus Christ. I have great respect and love over Him.” Just like him, many prominent persons of the nation love Jesus Christ. They are also pleased with the teachings of Christ.

When Jesus Christ lived in this world, His love pulled all the virtuous persons towards Him. Peter followed Him leaving behind his belongings like the fishing net and the boat. John rested in Christ’s bossom, having been attracted by His love. Mathew went behind Jesus Christ, leaving his job in the tax office. Mary, who was attracted by the love of Christ, anointed His legs with the fragrant oil (Luke 7:37). Mary Magdalene, uncared of her life, went to the tomb of Christ in the dark hours and waited there (John 20:1).

 Paul the Apostle came forward to happily accept all the sufferings for the sake of Christ (Acts 21:13). Thousands of Christians came forward to die as the witness of blood. Since Jesus came forward to sacrifice His life for your sake, how greatly you have to love Him! Nothing is equivalent to His love. There is no surprise in people of honesty loving Him.

Not only these people of honesty love Him but also the virgins, says the Scripture. Virgins are the ones who have protected their chastity. The term virgins give the meaning ‘ones who are strain-free,’ ‘white in colour like the lily flowers’ and ‘ones who love God whole-heartedly.’ Yes. Our God is one who is loved by the virgins.

Dear children of God, the church of God remains like a small group of virgins and is filled with the saints. When Christ, the bridegroom emerges with the sound of the trumpet, the virgins will also come out as the church of Christ’s brides. The church comprises a small group of saved individuals. When the anointment of the Holy Spirit is poured on the group, you will be elevated and become the bride of Christ.    

To meditate: “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His wife has made herself ready” (Rev 19:7).
