Oct -4 – WILL SET YOU HIGH!
“And that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name and in honour” (Deut. 26:19).
He will set you high. One who raises the poor from the dust and anoints him as the king comes nearer to you today and promises to say that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in fame, in name and honour.
Fame is one of the blessings given by God to man. He is happy to offer this to His children. When God called on Abraham, He gave him many blessings. The most important among them is “I will…. make your name great” (Genesis 12:2).
Even today, the Israelites call Abraham their father. You also call him ‘Father of faith.’ God has exalted him in such a big way.
Further, God did not hesitate to call Himself as ‘Father of Abraham.’ He connects His Name with that of Abraham and his children. Also, He says, “The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.” What a great respect, this is to Abraham!
It is written as “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham” in the first chapter of the Gospel written by Mathew. Yes. He felt proud in calling Himself as ‘The son of Abraham.’ Today, Abraham has acquired a never diminishing mightiness in the Scripture, history and the entire world. That God says today that He will set you high in praise, name and honour.
Look at Joseph. His brothers tried their level best to suppress him. They removed his dress and pushed him into a pit. They sold him to a merchant who was proceeding to Egypt. Satan attempted to tarnish his name by inducing the wife of Potiphar to make false allegations against him and he had to carry accusations on him. As he was cast in the prison, he had to stay as a prisoner with tears.
But his life did not stop with that. The time arrived for God to exalt him. God elevated him above all in Egypt in praise, name and honour. He rose high up next to Pharaoh in Egypt. Yes. It is our God who makes kings.
Dear children of God that God will also surely exalt and bless you.
To meditate: “…and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, him my Father will honour” (John 12:26).
