May 07 – Authority Over Sickness!

“He gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1–2)

The Lord has given you authority and power to heal diseases. Jesus clearly said, “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:18)

Let us look at eight ways in which the Lord heals:

1. He heals your body: Your body was created by the Lord, and on the cross, He bore every disease that can affect it. Therefore, do not permit any disease to reign over your body.
2. He heals your soul: David prayed, “Lord, be merciful to me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.” (Psalm 41:4) God heals your soul and grants you eternal life.
3. He heals the broken-hearted: “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3) Only the Lord can truly restore those crushed in spirit or broken-hearted.
4. He heals diseases caused by demonic powers: God grants us the authority to heal all those who are oppressed by the devil. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38) When demons are cast out, sicknesses vanish.
5. He heals natural diseases: These are illnesses that come through natural means—but even these are under His healing authority.
6. He heals physical defects: Whether it be deformities, chronic ailments, or disabilities, Jesus has power to restore and make whole.
7. He heals barrenness: When praying for the childless, pray with authority and boldness—the Lord will surely perform a miracle.
8. He heals backsliding: The Lord has promised and said, “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, for My anger has turned away from him.” (Hosea 14:4). “Backsliding” here refers to being far from God and doing things that are destructive to body and soul. The Lord wants to heal even that!

Dear children of God, the Lord wants to give you His healing power and authority. Receive it with faith. Lay hands in Jesus’ name and believe for healing miracles.
