JULY 10 – SHALL NOT LACK ANY GOOD THING!

“The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing” (Psalm 34:10).

The children of God will not lack anything when Jesus Christ, who does good things is with them. The Psalmist who says, “Shall not lack anything” shows the lion and its young ones to explain it. The only good thing which the young lions need is food. As the Mother lion and the father lion bring food for them, the young ones eat them and grow merrily.

The lion is the king of the forest and it never lags. No animal could wage war against it and win. It is fast, strong and a winner always. At times, even these kings will fail in fetching food for their young ones and during those times the younger ones will lack and suffer in hunger.

But, look at our Lord Jesus Christ. He is also a lion. He is the King Lion of Judah He is the one to do all good things to his children. Those who seek Him will not lack any good thing.

My father was struggling without a job for almost a year in the city of Chennai. He walked along the streets and prayed with tears saying, “God, so many gentiles are happy with good employments in this city. Many people who do not know you also are placed in key posts. Why don’t you give me a good job? Why don’t you exalt me?” At that time God reminded him of this verse (Psalm 34:10).

Who shall not lack any good thing? It is written that those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing. So, my father began to seek God through fasting and praying. God heard his prayer and blessed him with good employment. My father was exalted more than his expectations and was blessed.

Will you turn your heart to seek God? Will you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness? Will you be eager to see His golden face and to hear His thin voice? God gives you a promise which says, “Even today I declare that I will restore double to you” (Zachariah 9:12).

Our God is one who does good things for us. While thinking about the good things of God, never think that it relates to only the worldly blessings. One of the good things received from God is Salvation. Similarly, He also gives you good things like the Holy Spirit.

To meditate: “…how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him” (Mathew 7:11).
