Sep – 21 – EXALT THE LORD!

“Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool— He is holy” (Psalm 99:5). The lives of the saints who have been exalted by God could be found in the entire Scripture. You can also understand the secrets behind how they got exalted. When you follow that path, your life will also get exalted and stay blessed. If at all an exaltation surprises me greatly, it is the exaltation in the life of David. David who as a boy was shepherding the cattle, was exalted as the king of Israel. Not only that. God also greatly exalted him on the spiritual side. David shone not only as a king but also as a great prophet. He also had immeasurable love for God. Though there are many reasons for the exaltation of David, I would like to share one reason with you. It is, David honoured and exalted God who had exalted him. God will surely exalt, honour and glorify those who exalt, honour and glorify Him. You will exalt God both on the earth and in eternity. He alone is the Most High who has to be exalted. He alone loves you inwardly. He alone is the one who loved you and exalted you as kings and priests. The gentiles lampoon Him. Satan and his army lampoon His Name. But, you, the children of God are bound to exalt Him forever and ever. David says, “Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people and praise Him in the company of the elders” (Psalm 107:32). Whenever the believers assemble, they have to give honour and glory to Him and exalt His Name. Meditate again and again, the miracles and wonders performed by God and thereby exalt Him. David says, “Oh, magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3). There is an ancient song in Tamil Nadu. It goes like this “As the height of the furrows rise, the water level rises, as the water level rises the quantum of paddy harvested rises, as the quantum of paddy harvested rises the height of the barn increases and as the height of the barn increases then prosperity increases.” In the same way, to whatever level you exalt God in your spiritual life, in proportion, you will get exalted. God alone has to exalt and God dislikes self-exaltation or exaltation by other people. Dear Children of God, when you exalt Him and submit yourself humbly before God, He will certainly exalt you at the right hour. To meditate: “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap,to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s and He has set the world upon them” (I Samuel 2:8).
