Oct 05 – the beginning and the end!
“Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly” (Job 8:7).^pThe end of an assignment is more important than its beginning. When you do something, the end of it will be successful if it gets started in the right way. If it begins with God, its end will be glorious.^pDwight L. Moody was a famous devotee and do you know what the beginning of his ministry was? The beginning of his ministry was bringing the children to Sunday school. Not the ministry of teaching the children but merely to carry them to the venue on his shoulders. Since he was faithful in this simple job, God exalted him to become a world-famous Evangelist. ^pToday, you may also begin a new assignment for God. May it be a prayer ministry or a musical ministry or a tracts distribution ministry, or a hospital ministry, let it commence for God and be done truthfully. God will surely exalt you in it. ^pThere is a mention in the Scripture about a devotee named Zerubbabel. He made an initiative to build a church for God. He laid the foundation for the church using the plumb line, generally used in building houses. The eyes of God saw this beginning.^pThe Scripture says, “For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the Lord, which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth” (Zachariah 4:10).^pYour beginning may be simple, but it will help your spiritual life grow since it is done with God. You will also remain with your inner man strengthened. The Scripture says, “Yet the righteous will hold to his way, and he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger” (Job 17:9).^pLook at David. He was shepherding the sheep. Indeed this is a very ordinary beginning. But, he was faithful in it. Saying ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’ he wrote and sang the Psalms whenever he found time. How wonderful, his end was! The Scripture says, “They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion” (Psalm 84:7). Dear children of God, you may also remain faithful. God will bless you. You will get exalted more and more. ^pTo meditate: “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon” (Psalm 92:12).^p
