Mar 30 – THE WOMAN WHO BUILDS HER HOUSE !

“The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands” (Proverbs 14:1).

A wise woman should be there to establish the house and for peace to prevail there. Such a woman is essential to guide the family in a wise manner, to nourish the husband and children, and to mange the expenses in line with income. In the present days, marriage has become a commercial subject. There are many brokers who lure the groom’s family by telling they will get so many lakhs worth of gold and ornaments if they take a person from a particular family. And they only end up in choosing someone based on financial status, but without any wisdom whatsoever, and suffer its consequences all through their lives.

The Book of Proverbs, talks about many kinds of women, primarily about the wise woman. So many families have been ruined by foolish women.

Secondly, we can read about the wise woman in thirty-first chapter in the Book of Proverbs. “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies” (Proverbs 31:10). This section beautifully narrates about the qualities of such a wise woman. Those who are seeking a bride for themselves, should necessarily read this Scripture portion again and again.

Thirdly, we can read about a gentle woman in 1 Peter 3:4. “rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands” (1 Peter 3:4-5).

Fourthly, the Scripture talks about a woman who fears the Lord, in Proverbs 31:30. “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:30).

Fifthly, we read about women who had a willing heart in the Book of Exodus. “They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heart, and brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewellery of gold…” (Exodus 35:22). Women who had a willing heart, gave to the Lord with a joyful heart. They support and pray fervently for God’s ministries. And they play a great role in the ministry of God.

Verse for further meditation: “in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works” (1 Timothy 2:9-10).
