APRIL 20 – BY A WELL!

“Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall” (Genesis 49:22).

Among all the blessings bestowed upon the sons of Jacob, those blessings of Joseph were so great and sweet. God who blessed Joseph to that extent will bless you also in the same way. He is impartial.

Look at Joseph. ‘He is a fruitful bough by a well’ says the Scripture. A seedling planted in a dry area cannot grow and yield fruits. Dear children of God, where are you placed? If you get planted near a water resource, you will be giving a lot of fruits for God.

What does the well denote? It denotes the Holy Spirit. Whichever man maintains a deep relationship, he will keep on giving fruits for God. He will keep on living prosperously; will be filled with power and gift. What a great blessing this would be!

Generally, you will feel so happy when you see a tree with numerous fruits. You will appreciate how sweet they are and how nice and ripe they are. But, what is the reason behind that fruit to be so good? It is behind the roots of the tree which have constant contact with the water of the well. In the same way, when you meet fruit yielding believers and servants of God, you will be surprised over how they get filled with gifts of the Spirit and power so immensely. What is the secret behind this? The reason is that, their heart which is the root is having a deep relationship with the Holy Spirit. They are dwelling with God.

You see the lamp burning brightly and rejoice in it. The reason behind the bright light of the lamp is the wick’s constant contact with the oil. If you want your life to shine, your heart which is the wick should always get connected with the Holy Spirit.

You feel happy when you see tall buildings. Where lies the strength of such a one? It is in the foundation built of rock. Whose heart has deep contact with Jesus the rock, will not stumble while facing a storm or a flood but will stand firm like a strong building.

Dear children of God, you are a tree planted by the rivers of water (Psalm 1:3). You should yield fruits for God.

To meditate: “…the tree of life…yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations” (Revelation 22:2).
