Feb 10 – WILL BE MULTIPLIED !

“For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you” (Proverbs 9: 11)

Every new day is a gracious gift from God. Every minute and second from early morning to midnight, is a precious present from the Lord. Therefore, you are obliged to praise and worship the Lord as soon as you get up.

When you start the day with praising the Lord, you will realize how the day is turned into a blessing for you. You will see the sudden removal of all the troubles and difficulties that have surrounded you, and you will feel elated as if you are moving away from your gloom and darkness and entering into light.

His presence, His power and His grace are with you all the time. In the general sense, a day is a period of twenty-four hours starting from midnight. But for the Hebrew people, the day started from one evening to the next.

In whatever manner, the times are calculated, the Lord has promised to be with you all the days till the end of times. He will be with you every moment, every minute and every day of your life. Therefore, pray and try to feel the presence of God in your life.

Pastor Paul Yonggi Cho, used to give a distinct name for each new day and claim it as a promise from God. For example, he would name a new day as ‘Holiness’, thank and worship God for the holiness, and move forward in his holiness. He would name the next day as ‘Day of Prayer’, and will dedicate himself to prayer all through the day. He would name yet another day as the ‘Day of Grace’. He used to take joy in naming every new day like this.

Psalmist David also had this practice of naming every day. He used to call every new day as ‘Goodness and Mercy’. He joyfully declared that goodness and mercy shall follow him all the days of his life, and hopefully expected them each day. You also should expect excellent things from God. As He is with you.

Children of God, just like the earth revolves around the sun, you should also make it your life mission to revolve around the Lord, all the days of your life. You will then be able to rise and shine for God.

Verse for further meditation: “This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it”(Psalm 118: 24).
