Mar 16 – PERVERSINGIN ONES OWN WAYS AND BLAMELESSNESS!

“Whoever walks blamelessly will be saved, but he who is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall” (Proverbs 28:18).

Many saints in the Scripture have led a blameless life.  It has made them gain appreciation from both G od and the people. The opposite characteristic of being blameless is lying and cheating. There is an old saying in Tamil which says “One can cheat some people. He can cheat for some time. But nobody could cheat all persons at all times.” The legs of the lie are too short, and so, it cannot run for a long distance.  

Jesus said, “…there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.” (Mathew 10:26). Yes. Lie and cheating will come to light one day and what a big insult they will bring!

The Scripture says, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19). “…you know it, and that no lie is of the truth” (I John 2:21). “…all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

The book of Proverbs insists that one should be cautious against lying tongues and also lead a blameless life. You will remain as a pillar in the church if you lead a life of uprightness. The Scripture says, “For the upright will dwell in the land, and the blameless will remain in it” (Proverbs 2:21).

Job, the devotee, had to face numerous tests and struggles in his blameless path. During the time of suffering, even his wife told him “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die” (Job 2:9).

But, even then, Job did not commit sin. He did not deviate from his blamelessness. The Scripture says, “The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright” (Proverbs 11:5). “…he blameless in their ways are His delight” (Proverbs 11:20). “…Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless” (Proverbs 13:6). Whatever be the situation, do not come out of your blamelessness at any cost. Do not even think of lie and cheating. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

People are watching your truthfulness and uprightness. The whole of heaven watches out you. More importantly, God to watches you. One day, when you complete the run in this world and reach the Heavenly Kingdom, God will happily welcome you saying “…good and faithful servant; …Enter into the joy of your lord” (Mathew 25:21). Oh! What a blessed day that would be!
