Mar 13 – GLORY TO GLORY!
“There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory” (I Corinthians 15:41).
Though God created the sun, moon and the stars on the fourth day, the level of glory differed between them.
The sun, the moon and the stars resemble father, mother and children respectively, in a family. In the dream which Joseph had, he saw the sun, moon and the eleven stars bowing down to him (Genesis 37:9). In response, Jacob said, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?”
Yes. When the father shines for God as a sun, the wife and children shine like the moon and stars. Isaiah says, “Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion” (Isaiah 8:18).
In God’s family which is a heavenly one, Christ remains as the sun (Malachi 4:2 and Mathew 17:2), while the church which is the bride remains as the moon (Song of Solomon 6:10) and the servants of God remain as the stars (Daniel 12:3). The children of God may differ from each other in possession of glory, gifts and talents based on the revelation they have, but they should not forget that their prime focus should be to shine for God.
King David looked at the sun, moon and the stars. His heart was overflowing with divine love. He looked up to God and said, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained, what is a man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him?” (Psalm 8:3, 4).
The sun, moon and the stars speak the greatness of God and, they also reveal His love and mercy towards you. For a man who toils in the hot day, the night with coolness is essential for him, to rest. Moreover, the moon is most needed to make the night cool with its tender rays like milk. When the moon hides behind the clouds, the stars become essential to twinkle and provide light. How wonderfully, God has decorated the night!
Dear children of God give room for the Sun of Righteousness to shine in your life. If you do so, the ruler of darkness will run away from you. Even when you walk in the valley of darkness, which are the sinful habits, you will not fear. To meditate: “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah 60:2).
