Sep – 30 – IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?

“What have I done now? Is there not a cause?” (I Samuel 17:29). “Is there not a cause?” was the question raised by David to his brothers. Yes. There was a cause for David coming to the battle field. His brothers did not know this. That is why they asked him “Why did you come to the battle field? Why have you left the job of tending the sheep and stand with the warriors on the battlefield?” David replied “I did not come on my own. It is God who has made me stand here. Since I have been brought by Him, there must be a cause for it.” Dear children of God, there is a cause for God to choose you. There is also a cause for God to reveal His glory in your midst. It is not a coincidence for God to intervene in your life. Do not forget that He has met you with a purpose. Though David was just a youth without any battling skills, God made a cause to defeat Goliath with him that day and He is also powerful to do great things through you. Meeting with God can never happen as a coincidence to any believer or any child of God. No suffering happens unnecessarily and definitely there must be a cause. There is a cause for Jesus Christ to go to the wedding house at Cana. He made good the shortfall and turned the water into wine. Despite the hot afternoon, he was waiting near the well at Samaria and there was a cause behind it. The cause is nothing but to bring that Samaritan woman into Salvation. There is a cause for Him to walk along the pool at Bethesda. The cause is that He had given new life to the man who stayed there with sickness for thirty-eight years. There is a cause for Jesus Christ to look at the sycamore tree. The cause is that it brought Salvation to both Zacchaeus and his family. Are you sighing for the reason that you are unable to know the cause for the grief and sorrow to trouble your life? Do you lament saying why these losses to me and why these debt problems for me and so on? Are you distressed over why these shortfalls happen in your private life? There is a cause for everything. Dear children of God, believe that God meets you with a cause and thank Him wholeheartedly. If you do so, God will make everything good for you. He will turn all your sorrows into the blessed spring. To meditate: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (II Corinthians 4:17).
