“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the LORD” (Proverbs 21: 31)
There was a Believer and his wife who worked as teachers in a school. Although they had very limited means, they provided good education to all their children. Since the loved the Lord so much, they brought all the children into the knowledge of Christ, right in their early days. Because of this, all their nine children studied well and came into a good position in their lives. As the Lord had commanded victory in all their lives, they also grew up loving the Lord with all their hearts.
As a parent, you may give your children good food, nice clothes and spend a considerable amount of money to fulfill their needs. In spite of giving all of these, if you do not give them the knowledge of Christ, then they will not be able to prosper in their lives. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Loving is the Lord is the first step for victory in our lives. Whatever may be the hard work of children in studies, it is only the Lord who grants victory. Realising this great truth, Solomon the Wise says: “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the LORD” (Proverbs 21: 31).
The Scripture says: “The Lord of hosts will make them as His royal horse in the battle” (Zechariah 10:3). Whatever may be the competition or examination or interview, the Lord of hosts makes His children stand as His royal horses.
Let the presence of God always abide with you. Keep Him at the first priority in all your efforts. The Scripture says: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Mathew 6:33). “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3: 6).
Whatever is the challenge that lies ahead of you, the Lord will command you victory. Joshua and Caleb were not at all perturbed about the giants in the land of Canaan. They were also not worried about how strong and fortified that city was. All that they declared was: “If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us – a land which flows with milk and honey” (Numbers 14: 8). They strongly believed in their hearts that the Lord is with them and they will be victorious by the Lord.
Children of God, always set the Lord before you, and make a triumphant declaration. Speak words of faith and gain victory in all the battles of your life, and give thanks to the Lord. “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15: 57).
Verse for further meditation: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye”(Psalm 32: 8)
