Oct 04 – blessing and cursing!
“…I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing” (Deuteronomy 30:19).^pDoes your life remain blessed, or is it struggling in the hold of the curse? Evaluate yourself for once. The lives of many remain filled with unsolvable complications. ^pWe can find the voice of praise, blessing and mental satisfaction prevailing at some homes. But in some homes, we find them surrounded by the dominion of darkness and filled with sicknesses and struggles of the devil. How can these curses be cast out? ^pIn the Scripture portion of Genesis 3:14-19, we read about the curse. The heart of God got broken when Adam disobeyed Him. The man paid heed to the serpent instead of obeying God and so God, who was offended, cursed humanity and the entire world. Because of this, man had to toil and sweat out for earning his food, the women had to undergo labour pain, and the earth was able to bring out thorns and thistles. ^pThus, the curse which came into being in Genesis, which is the first book of the Scripture, continued to appear till Revelations which is the last book. But, Revelation 22:3 says “And there shall be no more curse.” The children of God have been called to inherit the blessings. ^pIf you want to be blessed, the first thing you have to do is to get rid of the curse. You have to find the root cause of the curse. When you realise that it is not a compulsion to suffer from the curse and take remedial measures, God will surely deliver you from the power of the curse. ^pLook up to Jesus Christ. He has redeemed us from the power of the cures by shouldering the curses aimed at us. Thus He become a curse for our sake. The Scripture says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” (Galatians 3:13).^pLook up to Jesus Christ who became a curse for your sake with praise. He accepted your curses by hanging Himself on the wooden cross. He willed to deliver you from the clutches of the curse by wearing the crown made of cursed thorns. ^pMany people accept the fact that Jesus Christ gave His life on the Cross for our sins. But they do not realize that He has also carried our curses on the Cross. Dear children of God, since God loves you, He turns even your curses into blessings. ^pTo meditate: “And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it” (Revelation 22:3).^p
