Nov 30 – DEEP WATERS; IN WHICH ONE MUST SWIM !
“Again, he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed” (Ezekiel 47:5).
We have been meditating on various rivers that originate from Eden and from heaven, all through this month. The deeper spiritual meanings about these rivers gladdens our heart and helps us to be strengthened in the spirit.
You are called not to just to observe the river but to get into the river and into greater depths. But before we go into such greater depths, let us quickly look at the various stages of spiritual experience. Firstly , it is the stage of ankle-deep experience; that of rejoicing in the Holy Spirit. Secondly, you progress into knee-deep experience; of being filled with the spirit of prayer and supplication. Thirdly, there is the waist-deep experience; where you gird your waist and serving mightily in the Lord.
There is a far greater spiritual experience than all the above stages. That is the experience of deep waters – in which you must swim. Deep waters or swimming-depth refers to complete control of the Holy Spirit. It is an experience of complete transformation by growing from strength to strength; grace upon grace; and glory upon glory.
Without any further delay, you should get into such experience of deep waters. Surrender yourself to be completely controlled by the Holy Spirit. May be, you could have relied only partially on the Holy Spirit, or committed your life to be led by the Spirit only in a limited sense. You could have had a 50:50 dependence on your own strength and the Holy Spirit.
But now the River of Holy Spirit wants to flow over you; to fill you and lead you in His ways. He takes complete control over you with His anointing. Go into this abounding and matchless anointing, which is far above your thoughts and imaginations. This experience calls for letting go of your self-will and desires, surrendering to God’s will and purpose and getting into the perfection of the Lord. This is the victorious and overcoming experience granted by the Holy Spirit.
You should long for the experience of deep-waters. Be filled with the Holy Spirit, rejoice in the Lord and get into such deep-waters, and enjoy His perfection. Today, you will receive such an experience. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. Therefore, God shall definitely grant you such experiences. Children of God, the Lord wants to take you to deep-waters, in which you must swim. Will you be open to get into that experience?
Verse for further meditation: “And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; a fountain shall flow from the house of the Lord and water the Valley of Acacias” (Joel 3:18)
