Nov 15 – PEACE LIKE A RIVER !

“For thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream” (Isaiah 66:12).
Meditate on the river from heaven flowing into your heart. And you will experience the divine peace of God filling you like a river and sweeping away all fears and sorrows of your heart.
Weariness of heart is the major illness that afflicts most people today. Their hearts are troubled with worries all the time, for reasons unknown. They are not able to bear the burden of their issues and constantly under the fears, weariness and sense of defeat.
Once a wealthy man, got into the habit of drinking with his friends, when he was troubled with many business-related issues. Soon he was strongly addicted to drinking and even thought that it was the only way of escaping from his problems. And one day, the Lord touched him in that state and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. The love of the Lord flowed into him like a river. As he kept on praying, he was filled with the fullness of the Spirit. Since he received the divine peace from the heavenly river, he was no longer tossed around when he had to face problems in his business.
There was yet another Brother, who took to consuming sleeping pills, to forget his worries. And soon enough, he reached a point that sleeping pills were the only way to get peace and comfort in his heart. One of his friends advised him, saying: ‘Sleeping pills will never be a solution to your problems. The moment you come out of the effect of those pills; the same problems will be standing in front of you. Therefore, come unto the Lord Jesus; only He can provide peace like a river. He is the One who can grant you peace; not as the world gives but the peace of God, which can never be taken away from you’.
Our Lord Jesus is the Prince of peace. He is the God of peace (Romans 15:33). Whether it is at the individual level, or for all the members of a family, or even to nations – only Lord Jesus can grant peace; peace like a river. The Scripture says; “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).
Children of God, look unto Lord Jesus – the mountain where your help comes from. Let that boundless divine peace come into your hearts. And all your confusions, troubles and fears will be swept away and your hearts will be filled with the joy of the Lord.
Verse for further meditation: “Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea” (Isaiah 48:18)
