Nov 12 – LAND OF GOLD !

“The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good” (Genesis 2:11-12).

The Scripture says the name of first river is Pishon and that it runs around the land of Havilah. The term ‘Havilah’ means a circle or a ring. It keeps running around and is never stagnant.

When you are anointed, the Holy Spirit operates within you all through the day and night. He operates on all the days, weeks, months and through the years. He is the One who permanently enriches your life. And He keeps on doing it without any stagnation. Indeed, it is so marvelous and wonderful!

Now, what are privileges when the Holy Spirit; the heavenly river flows within you. It produces gold in the land. The word ‘gold’ is mentioned in the Scripture in two different senses. Firstly, gold points to Holiness. Secondly, gold also points to Faith. When the Holy Spirit comes in to you, He creates Holiness in you; which is so precious and Faith which is so important.

It is impossible to live a holy life without the support of the Holy Spirit. It is not possible to be an overcomer and gain victory over the lusts and desires of the world, without the Holy Spirit.

That is why the Holy Spirit is producing holiness in you as the heavenly river sweeps over your soul. He brings in the heavenly standard of holiness, which is without any spot or stain; the kind of holiness that the Lord expects.

Gold gets its lustre or sheen only when it is purified and refined in a furnace. In the same manner, when the Holy Spirit fills you, He removes all the impurities and keeps on cleansing you and makes you shine like gold. That is why Job said; that when the Lord has tested, he shall come forth as gold (Job 23:10).

Secondly, gold also points to precious faith. Faith is one of the fundamental teachings. It is the faith toward God (Hebrews 6:1). It is also one of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:9); and is one among the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Children of God, may the river of heaven; the Holy Spirit fill you so that you grow in all these three forms of faith.

Verse for further meditation: “More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb” (Psalm 19:10).
