Nov 11 – RIVER PISHON !

“The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold” (Genesis 2:11).

One of the riverheads that parted out from the river of Eden, is called River Pishon. Although the Scripture names about thirteen rivers, River Pishon finds the first mention in the Bible. This River Pishon runs around the whole land of Havilah. The term ‘Pishon’ means river that flows without any hurdle or obstruction.

When the Holy Spirit flows into you as a river of life, He first of all removes all the stumbling blocks in you. He rolls away and breaks all the rocks that stand in opposition. It sweeps aside all the trees, plants and vines that obstruct the flow. It also levels up all the mounds and fills up the low-lying areas.

When you are anointed by the Holy Spirit, He first breaks away all the blocks and impediments in your spiritual life. The Scripture says, “The yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil” (Isaiah 10:27). Even today, the Lord wants to destroy all the impediments in your life. Job says; “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You” (Job 42:2).

The blocks in your life will be demolished in proportion to your praising Him in the spirit. Whoever or whatever is blocking your progress, the Holy Spirit will demolish them, make your paths straight and take you forward. Even if it is the Pharaoh or roaring Red Sea, or the fierce Jordan River or the Wall of Jericho – none can stand against the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Scripture says; “The one who breaks open will come up before them; they will break out, pass through the gate and go out by it; their king will pass before them, with the Lord at their head” (Micah 2:13).

There are many who voice out their concerns that they are not able to feel the presence of the Lord or pray for their families. But if the river from Eden could flow without any obstruction, the Holy Spirit will also operate in your life to remove all the impediments, and will help you to pray.

When the Holy Spirit comes in, you are filled with the spirit of prayer, and with tongues – tongues of men and tongues of angels. Children of God, be filled with the Holy Spirit. And the God of heaven will grant you the gift of speaking in heavenly tongues.

Verse for further meditation: “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2).
