Nov 03 – RIVER HIDDEKEL !

“The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria” (Genesis 2:14).

The name of every riverhead flowing from Eden, has a spiritual meaning. And when you meditate on them, the Lord will teach you important lessons for your spiritual life, so you can be like a river that enriches and a fountain that never dries up.

There are only two mentions about River Hiddekel in the Scripture. First, we read that it flowed out of Eden in Genesis 2:14. We also read about this river in the book of Daniel, where he describes about his wonderful vision of God, when he was by the side of that great river (Daniel 10:4).

The term ‘Hiddekel’ means ‘Tempo’. When the power of Holy Spirit comes within you, it increases your spiritual tempo. Whether it is prayer or ministry, the power of Holy Spirit and the love of God, presses you do it with great pace. It places a great burden in your heart to cry out for those who dwell in darkness and to gain more souls for God’s kingdom.

As you get closer to the Coming of the Lord, you should increase the momentum of your ministry. Since there is a huge harvest ahead of you, before His coming, you should increase the pace of your harvesting. There is indeed so much to do for the Lord, within such a short period.

During election campaigns for assembly or parliament, every political party will work tirelessly day and night; for their candidate. The election rallies will start off two or three months before the election date, with intense propaganda.

The people of this world work with intense pace to form governments. Satan also realises that he has only a short time left, and is working in full speed to deceive the people. If that be the case, you can imagine the kind of urgency that you need to work with; as a people prepared for the Coming of the Lord, to inherit the heavenly kingdom.

In the Scripture, there are references to various animals. The mighty men of David were as swift as gazelles on the mountains (1 Chronicles 12:8). Isaiah talks about the swift horses (Isaiah 30:16). We also read of swift female camel that breaks loose in her ways (Jeremiah 2:23). Children of God, you should work with greater pace than all of these, for the kingdom of God.

Verse for further meditation: “Before I was even aware, My soul had made me as the chariots of my noble people” (Song of Solomon 6:12).
