Nov 02 – The Reason for Strength!
“…to drive out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land as an inheritance, as it is this day.” (Deuteronomy 4:38)
There was a reason God strengthened and brought the people of Israel out of Egypt —so that they might inherit the land of Canaan. They were to conquer seven nations and thirty-one kings, and to possess every part of the land their forefather Abraham had walked upon. For that purpose, the Lord determined to make them strong and courageous.
Today, there lies before us our heavenly Canaan — the New Jerusalem, Mount Zion, the eternal Kingdom of Heaven. To inherit this, we must overcome every power of the enemy that seeks to hinder us. We must wage war against the hosts of wicked spirits in the heavenly realms and prevail. We must be stronger than Satan himself, bind him, and take back what he has stolen.
The Lord led Israel through the wilderness to strengthen them. When they were slaves, they had eaten the food of the world, but in the wilderness, He gave them the food of angels — manna from heaven. He made them strong as the wild ox.
Scripture says, “God brings them out of Egypt; he has strength like a wild ox. He shall consume the nations, his enemies; he shall break their bones and pierce them with His arrows.” (Numbers 24:8)
Among all the beasts on earth, the wild ox, that is the rhinoceros, is known for its immense strength — no lion, tiger, or elephant can stand against it. Beloved, see your inner man as that strong wild ox! The Lord has already poured His mighty strength into you.
Once, during a fasting prayer, a frail old woman came and knelt before a minister of God. Seeing her weakness, the servant of God wondered how she could fast and pray in such a state. But the Lord opened his eyes to see the woman’s inner being — she stood as a mighty warrior, radiant, holding a flaming sword, filled with the strength of a wild ox! Through that inner strength, she waged war in the spirit and triumphed over the powers of darkness.
Dear child of God, the One who is in you is greater! Believe that you are a mighty warrior in His strength.
Verse for further meditation: “Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; as your days, so shall your strength be.” (Deuteronomy 33:25)
