Nov 01 – For Your Sake!

“And Laban said to him, ‘Please stay, if I have found favour in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.’” (Genesis 30:27)

Some people bring blessings wherever they go. Think about Laban’s words — he openly admitted that he was blessed because of Jacob. The blessing of the Lord was upon Jacob, and wherever Jacob went, those around him were also blessed.

Look at Joseph’s life. Because of him, not only was his entire family blessed, but every place he went, he became a channel of God’s favour. The Scripture says, “So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.” (Genesis 39:5)

But on the other hand, there are people through whom sorrow, loss, or even curses come. Because of Achan’s disobedience to God’s command, the entire nation of Israel faced defeat. Because of Jonah’s rebellion, everyone on the ship suffered — the sea raged, and their cargo was lost.

Dear child of God, pause for a moment and reflect — are you bringing blessing into your family, or are you bringing distress? Do your loved ones experience joy, peace, and harmony through you? Or are they burdened by pain, grief, and turmoil because of your actions?

There was once a man who caused much trouble and sorrow to his family. But the day he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, everything changed. From that moment on, his home became a place of blessing. When he dedicated himself to serve the Lord, thousands of other families were blessed through him.

When God called Abraham, He promised that “in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)

In the same way, because of Jesus Christ, the Father chose to bless us with every blessing — spiritual, heavenly, and eternal. Through Him, we have received all things that pertain to life and godliness.

Verse for further meditation: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
